Stephen McKee

Stephen McKee (1961, Dublin) is a self-taught artist who took up painting four  years ago after collecting art for 15 years. Among his mentors are artists Cecil King and William Scott.

The main medium Stephen employs is oil on board. His technique consists of preparing the board using an oil based preparation and then building the painting up in layers. Stephen gets inspiration for his paintings from the ever-changing landscape near his home in Sandyford. Music and Politics also feature in his work.

A book featuring Stephen's new work is available. Foreword by Sunday Tribune Art Critic Marlene Lyng. Click here to read Marlene Lyng's text.
