Regine Bartsch (1951, Germany).
The work of the Cahirsiveen-based artist is acclaimed for
its particularly sensuous use of colour and unrestrained
fluidity. Her interest is in everything to be experienced,
all phenomena are fascinating to the artist who does not
keep to any particular style. Some of her work is extremely
abstract, using a lot of geometry. On the other hand she
also paints people, flowers and nature naturalistically.
Sometimes, Regine combines both aspects. Often her pictures
seem to be a fantasy but she thinks of them more as reality
highlighted. Regine has exhibited consistently in one-woman
and group shows in Ireland. She is also renowned for her
work in tapestry.
