Conrad Frankel (1979, Cork) describes
himself as "a reactionary to the contemporary Zeitgeist".
After reading for a degree in Biblical and Theological Studies
(Trinity College, Dublin, 2001), Conrad travelled to the
South of France to perfect his art. He is greatly influenced
by the French landscapes: its mountains, sunshine, shutters
and fruit. In a recent interview (The Dubliner magazine,
April 2004), the young artist stated "When I paint,
I seek to create an image that is fragile yet robust, permanent
yet fleeting - like a flicker of shadow across a tabletop".
Returning to Ireland, Conrad resided in Shankill Castle,
the home of painter Elizabeth Cope, where he exhibited to
great success. Conrad is currently studying for an MA in
Fine Art Painting in the prestigious City and Guilds of
London Art School.
